The Helmet

Well, Izzy is now sporting her plagiocephaly cranial remolding helmet. She doesn't seem to mind it at all and has actually slept really well in it. She is her usual happy self. I think its more uncomfortable for Brad and I to see her in it all day, than it is for her to be in it. It was a plain white medical looking helmet when we first received it...so we jazzed it up a bit. I think she's feeling pretty cool in it now. Brad wanted to paint it orange with a big 20 on it (for you non-nascar people, that's Tony Stewart's number). He of course, lost. Here are the before and after pics of her helmet.

Update!

Ok, so I'm getting harrassed that I haven't updated in a while. The summer went by way too fast. The highlight of the summer was probably the Noss annual campout, which was a lot of fun, and Izzy had a good time as well...or so it seemed. Other than that, Brad and I really didn't have time for too much fun or vacations, because we were both fairly new to our jobs. I'm loving my new firm and am so glad that I decided to look when I did. Brad is also enjoying the hours that he works at Lowes as opposed to the slave hours he was working at the old job. We recently went to St. George to visit my family, which was fun...but not long enough. Izzy went swimming for the first time and really enjoyed it. In other news, Brad is back in school and keeping busy. He also thinks that it's possible to remodel our upstairs bathroom while working full-time, and going to school full time...only time will tell :-). Izzy is growing so big (and round - love it!) and has recently started rolling over. She has plagiocephaly (basically part of her skull is flat), and she'll be getting a cranial remolding helmet here in the next few days. Other than that...life is good!

Daddy's Girl

We went to Sugarhouse park the other day and just hung out and snapped some pictures.  I was able to get a few of Brad playing with Izzy when he wasn't aware of it.  She is fascinated with Brad...or maybe it's just the gray whiskers :-), but anyhow, she just loves looking at him (and so does her mama!).  She already has her daddy wrapped around her little finger.

New Job!!!

I have a new job!  I've been wanting one for a while now, but finally decided to start looking a few weeks ago.  I start work at Stoel Rives, L.L.P on Monday in the Labor/Employment Litigation practice group.  I'm more than ready to be back in corporate law and I'm also excited to be once again, working downtown (that means meeting up for lunches girls...you know who you are).  The sad part, however, is not being with Izzy during the day, but it's very comforting knowing that she has such awesome aunts and a grandma who love her and who I completely trust to take care of her.  Thanks so much Candice, Lauri, Jenny and Carolee for helping Brad and I out. We love you!

9 Weeks Old!

Well, Izzy is now 9 weeks old.  The pics above were taken when she was about 6 weeks old.  Our little chub-a-lub is now 13 pounds 14 oz and growing so fast! The time has flown by since she was born, and tomorrow I go back to work.  I can take Izzy with me, but we'll see how that goes.  She is a really good baby and pretty much only cries when she wants her bottle, but I worry about being too busy at work to pay enough attention to her.  She has been sleeping through the night since she was 5 weeks old, and lately has been sleeping on average from 10:30 at night to 7:30 in the morning.  She has so much personality and expressions that she makes us laugh all the time.  I think she is definitely going to be a daddy's girl for sure :-)

New Ride!

Brad and I bought a new car on Saturday and I love driving a vehicle that I feel is not going to fall apart on me any second. The transmission was going out on my Honda, the AC was broken(again), which made driving a baby around in the middle of the day absolutely impossible. The wheel bearings were making an awful noise and the car needed new brakes. So...after figuring out an estimate of how much it would cost to fix the thing, we decided a new car may not be a bad option. Brad always said he would never drive a Hyundai, but it had great ratings in Consumer Reports and was also a Consumer Report top pick, so he agreed to go to the dealership. Neither of us has ever had a new car before - only used. I'm loving the Santa Fe and it has so much more storage than the Honda, plus... it will be nice to have an SUV to drive in the snow next winter!

5 Weeks Old

Isabel is now 5 weeks old. It seems like she was born just 2 weeks ago. The time has flown by so fast. I'll be sad when it's time to go back to work, but at least I can take her with me. She keeps me so busy at home that it will be interesting to see how it goes when I go back to work. She has the cutest personality and smiles a lot...but she has also been known to give a few scowls as well, as illustrated in the picture below where I took her picture while giving her a bath. She got her first cold, which has not been fun. Luckily it's not too bad. Not much else has been going on... Just trying to get my new life organized and balance being a new mom :-)

Graduation!

Well, I finally graduated. When I found out that the date for graduation was so near my due date, I wasn't sure if I wanted to walk...but I was feeling good so I decided to go ahead and participate in commencement a week after Isabel was born. In other news...Isabel is now almost 2 1/2 weeks old. It's been an adventure, and I never knew how sleep deprived I'd be. She's so much fun though and already has quite the personality. We had another doctors appointment today and he said that she is now 9 pounds 4 oz., and is 22 inches long.

The New Arrivial of Our Sweet Baby Girl!!

Isabel Noss was finally born April 25th at 8:42 p.m. She weighed 7 pounds 5 ounces and is 19 inches long. She is very sweet and very alert for being so little, and already full of smiles. In fact, we went to our first pediatrician appointment today and he said that she's as alert as a one-month-old baby! Here are some pictures:

The Tulip Festival

Brad and I met up with Candice and the girls, Lauri, Tyler & Emma at the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point. I have to admit it was somewhat disappointing. Only 20% of the tulips at the festival had opened. It was fun to hang out with everyone though, and all the girls looked adorable as usual. Brad and I were there for about 3 hours, and boy can I feel it now! Note to self...take it easy on the walking when you're 9 months pregnant...Ouch!

A Work in Progress...

Well, here are the "before" and "in progress" pics of the baby's room that I've promised to post. Hopefully, I'll be able to post the "after" pics by Monday. Brad with the help of Cory, Tyler, Clay and his dad, has retextured the ceiling, fixed the walls, painted, added beadboard, trim (base, crown & corner blocks), a new custom window sill, custom closet, added the new light fixture with fan & ceiling medallion, and installed new blinds. All that's left to do is caulk, and paint the trim, beadboard, & closet. Brad's mom is also making us a hamper and basket liners to match! It's coming along...

The Babies Room.

Alright so Robin keeps telling me that this is our blog and that I need to contribute. So here it goes... We are at our final week of the pregnancy and it looks like she's going to be late... huh... like mother, like daughter. We are both so excited to meet her that it's starting to feel like a fever almost. After nine months of waiting I think its about time we get that chance. We had a doctors appointment today and we are going to go in on Monday, if she doesn't come before then, to have some tests done, and an ultrasound. Then if she still hasn't come on Thursday then we go in and plan with the doctor when we'll be induced. The doctor seems to think that at the latest it will be, is by weeks end we will have our precious little baby girl.
The room is about 85% complete just calking, painting and moving the mound of baby gifts piled in our living room. I've been working the last couple of days on the closet and I think it looks pretty good... Not to toot my own horn but yes, I am amazing. :-)
Times have been stressful lately with me trying to find a new job, Robin coming close to ending her academic career, preparing for the little one, and trying to figure out which out of my 4 vehicles will be the cheapest to fix and use... I think the Jeep is going to win, but we still have each other and our faith and of course the free baby stuff. Thanks y'all!!
I know Robin's posts are a lot better than mine, and I'm hoping that she'll hate this and say that she'll write all the rest. :-)
Peace!!!

Noah Kile Bigelow!

We have a new nephew!! Noah Kile Bigelow was born on March 15th, weighing 8 pounds 11 ounces. He's 21 inches long and has a head full of hair. Just a few more weeks until his cousin arrives! The nursery is really coming along. Brad has been working so hard on it, and his dad, Tyler, Cory and Clay have all helped out to make our nursery spectacular! I'll get some pics up soon. In the meantime, here's some pics of Noah!

Month 7

Baby Girl is definitely running out of room in my belly. I swear there is nowhere else that girl can go, and I don't see how my belly can get any bigger. I'm amazed that it's been able to stretch this much already. The picture above is of my sister Jenny and myself. My sister is due in 3 weeks with her baby boy, whereas, I still have 8 weeks to go. There is still so much to do before she arrives, including taking my Math final, cleaning and organizing my house, and finishing the nursery. Brad started the nursery a couple of weeks ago, but it's been a slow work-in-progress. He's been working insane hours at work and I've been busy with school and work as well. I'll hopefully get some before and after pics of the nursery to post soon. Other than that, I've been feeling pretty good...tired, but good :-)

BABY GIRL!

We're having a baby! We realize it's crazy soon, but we feel very blessed and excited. We found out on Monday that we'll be having a little girl. If Brad had his way, he would love to decorate the nursery in Jeeps and Monster trucks (whether boy or girl), however, I'm slowly getting him used to the idea that it will probably be pink :-). We have a lot to do before our girl comes. Brad is going to start ripping up the carpet in the house in order to make way for NEW carpet!!! After the carpet is installed and finals are over, I think we might finally be able to start concentrating on painting and decorating a nursery. Until then, we're slowly making way for the holiday season. Happy Thanksgiving!!!

The Monsters...

Daisy and Cutter are the two rambunctious children in our lives...ok, dogs. As I've mentioned in our profile, they sometimes act like little monsters- and I admit they can be quite a handful. However, despite being naughty and mischievous at times, they really do brighten my day whenever I see their happy little faces. They get so excited by the simplest things! I wish I could be satisfied by something as simple as someone throwing a dirty tennis ball for me to fetch, or giving me a plastic water bottle to chew on (their favorite). Brad adopted Cutter when he was 1-year-old (he's now 5), and we got our little Daisy from the shelter while Brad and I were engaged so that Cutter wouldn't be so lonely. Well, Daisy definitely keeps Cutter company and they play constantly. Cutter was a bit chubby before we got Daisy, but our little guy is all muscle now. Daisy just runs him around in circles and their favorite game is tug-of-war.

The Wedding!

Brad and I were married on June 9th and I've never been happier. He is truly my best friend. The wedding was wonderful because we were surrounded by so many family and friends. We had our reception at the Taylorsville Historic Assembly Hall which was great, and we had a nice turnout. It was really fun to meet all of Brad's friends and people he grew up with. We honeymooned in Moab, Utah, which was perfect because I love to hike and Brad is a big Jeeping fan. We also had a lot of fun hiking in Arches National Park (pics coming soon). Tackling the Delicate Arch hike was the best feeling...and so worth it! The day we got back however, I slipped at the bottom of our stairs and broke my foot. So, as it slowly heals and Brad calls me names like "gimpy" and "clod-hopper," I find myself getting restless to take this boot off my foot and do something active. We're going to be heading up to Ashley National Forrest in about 2 weeks for the Noss annual campout. There's a fabulous hike there that we went on last year, but I guess I'll just have to wait and tackle it again next year. I think it will be a really fun trip though, just so long as I don't see any bears! Brad's mom and dad are talking about getting a loud air-horn for me to sound in case I see any bears. It's supposed to make me feel more safe up there, ha-ha (love it!). I really enjoy camping... but I do have a fear of bears, yikes!
